Viacom v. Youtube
SO... the case of Viacom v. Youtube was about the use of Spongebob on Youtube and how Youtube was infringing on Viacom's copyright laws on Spongebob. Viacom claimed that Youtube was creating hyperlinks from the Spongebob videos and directing users to Youtube's website, thus gaining Youtube revenue from their ads which should be Viacom's. The court's decision was in favor of Youtube due to the fact that. The hyperlinks are created by the website and then sent to search engines and other places where they would be viewed, and that it was not Youtube's responsibility to monitor all of the videos.
I agree with the courts decision in this case. But for personal reasons, copyright laws and actions that companies take over them seem ridiculous and greedy to me sometimes... I think that if you create media or art you should copyright because if someone claims it to be there own and make money off of it, you rightfully deserve that profit. But when companies like Viacom sue Youtube or other websites for hosting small clips from their shows or things it's absurd. I don't understand what the big deal is. I think people should be paid for art and media that they create, but Viacom is worth roughly $28,000,000,000 and it annoys me that they would rather make a few bucks, than let people enjoy what they have created. Overall I just think cases like this are just money-obssesed companies caring more about money than people.

I used the first image and edited it in Picnik. I only used a few effects but I really like my final product.

I took the Rodeo Boys picture and edited it in iPiccy. I wasn't as satisfied as I wanted to be with the final product, but none of the effects I used on it felt right. In the end, I just went with the classic picture feel but I would've liked something else... I just don't know what.

For the final picture I used the free Photoshop Express Editor. I'm not sure if I like my City picture or this one the best, but I do really enjoy what I did with this one! I felt like I didn't use enough effects and edits in the other pictures so I used more on this one. But I honestly can't remember which ones! Sorry!

For this image I used Photofunia. I picked this template because I wanted to do a couple of pictures that had my picture interact with the template it was going into. For this one I like to think that it looks like I'm looking at the man who is painting me.

I don't remember and couldn't re-find the website that I used to create this picture, but the reason I used it was the same reason I used the last website. I wanted it to look like I was looking up at Bill Gates on the tablet that he is holding.

This photo was from Dumpr. I used it because I enjoyed attempting (never completed) Rubik's Cubes as a kid, so I thought it would be fun to do a photo where I was the Rubik's Cube.

Three Favorite Websites
My three favorite websites are Reddit, YouTube, and Imdb.
1. Reddit has changed how I use the Internet. I found it hard to pick my second, and third favorite websites because Reddit is mainly the only website that I use. The website runs by using a system of "Sub-reddits" which are just message-board-like areas for a specific topic. There are sub-reddits for almost anything you could think of, you can subscribe to them and make them show up on your Reddit front page which will be made up from the top posts from your subscribed sub-reddits. From politics, to video games (even specific ones), to science, and even an IAmA, or AMA sub-reddit, which is where people say IAmA (I am a) "____" AMA (ask me anything). These can be ANYTHING. I recently saw one that was "IamA Diagnosed Psychopath AMA" it gives people a chance to have questions they have answered, and sometimes celebrities do them! Because of Reddit I have been able to ask and get a response from both Zach Braff and Bear Grylls. I could talk forever about this site seeing as, since it only takes one click to start your own sub-reddit, there are over 9,000 sub-reddits as of July...
2. YouTube is another one of my favorite websites. I love finding new users and subscribing to there videos. It's amazing to see how what people can do with a small budget a camera and a computer. The animations and CGI done in YouTube video's astonishes me. I also subscribe to a lot of music people. They post a song are songs weekly from suggestions they get from the people who watch their videos. I also follow one news channel. His story amazes me, he just started out as one guy posting responses to news videos on YouTube and he now has his own company worth close to, or over a million dollars that is strictly for his YouTube channels.
3. Imdb was pretty much a throw away for me because, I rarely stray from Reddit and YouTube since they are so vast and cover every topic you could want. I also never use the Imdb website, but I do use the website's app almost everyday when watching TV or movies. I love the fact that I can see an actor that I like and find other things that he/she is in. I also HATE when you see someone in a movie or show and you recognize them, but for the life of you, you can't remember what they were in. I simply hop on my Imdb app, look up what I'm watching and find the actor and go to their page. I now have a full list of every show and movie they've been in.
